Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are seeking a Project Engineer - Water to support the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning and design through to construction and commissioning. This role will suit an engineer with experience in the water sector who can combine strong technical knowledge with effective coordination, commercial awareness and a commitment to safe, high-quality project delivery.

Responsibilities will include developing and reviewing technical designs, specifications, drawings and calculations; coordinating consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders; preparing project programmes, cost estimates, procurement documentation and progress reports; and monitoring performance against agreed scope, budget, schedule and quality standards. You will contribute to risk assessments, design reviews, constructability assessments and change control, while ensuring that works comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, client requirements and health, safety and environmental procedures.

The role may involve site visits, supporting construction activities, resolving technical issues and assisting with testing, commissioning and handover documentation.

Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, water or a related engineering discipline, with relevant experience delivering water, wastewater, treatment, pipeline, drainage or associated infrastructure projects. Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and managing technical interfaces is essential. Knowledge of design standards, contract administration and common project controls would be advantageous, as would professional registration or progress towards chartership.

You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, sound analytical and problem-solving abilities, and confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels. A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential. The successful candidate will be expected to promote collaborative working, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and maintain a clear focus on safety, sustainability and reliable project outcomes.
