Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

JDSConsultingisseekingaqualified Soil Scientisttojoinour Specialty Design Department .Thisrolesupportslanddevelopment,site assessments,andcivilengineeringprojectsthroughsoilanalysis,fieldinvestigations,septicsystemdesign,andonsitewastewaterevaluations.

Theidealcandidatehashands‑onexperiencewithsoiltesting,septic layouts,septic inspections,andenvironmentalregulations.

Thispositionrequiresstrongtechnicalskills,attentiontodetail,andtheabilitytocollaboratewithengineers,designers,clients,andregulatoryagencies.

Conductsiteinvestigations,soil sampling,andsoilanalysistoevaluatesoilproperties,compaction,and permeability.

Performfieldtesting,includingsoilborings,percolation(perc) tests,andstormwaterinfiltrationassessments.

Design,evaluate,andlayoutonsitewastewaterandsepticsystems,includingsepticservicelinesanddrainfields.

Conductsepticinspectionsandsiteevaluationstoassesssystemfunctionalityandregulatorycompliance.

Collaboratewithengineersanddesignteamstoevaluategroundconditions,foundation requirements,erosion,andslopestability.

Interpret state,federal,andlocalenvironmentalregulationsandland-use policies.

Preparetechnicalreports,site assessments,andpermitapplicationpackages.

Reviewcivilsiteplans,construction drawings,grading plans,anderosioncontrolspecifications.

Participateinfieldsurveys,sitefeasibilitystudies,andconstructionsitemonitoringthroughoutthe

Raleigh-to-coast region.

Coordinatewiththe Fieldand Engineering Departmentstoreviewdatacollection ,reporting,andprojectdeliverables.

Providetechnicalsupportforspecialtydesignandstructuralprojectsasneeded.

Bachelor'sormaster'sdegreefromaU.S.

-accrediteduniversityin

Soil Science,Geotechnical Engineering,Environmental Science,orarelatedfield.

North Carolina Licensed Soil Scientist (LSS) or Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) credentials required.

1-3yearsoffieldexperience.

Hands-onexperiencewithsepticlayouts,septic inspections,andsepticservicelineevaluations.

Experiencewithlanddevelopment,public works,orcivilconsultingengineeringprojectsin

North

Carolina'sCoastal Plainand Piedmont regions .

Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems (GIS),CADDsoftware,andengineeringmappingtools.

Familiarity with

AutoCAD.

Knowledgeofsoilscience,soil mechanics,onsitewastewatersystems,andapplicableenvironmentalregulations.

Strongwrittenandverbalcommunication,organizational,andtime-management skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Officeand Google applications ,including

Word,Excel,Outlook,and Gmail.

Abilitytoworkindependentlywhilecollaboratingeffectivelywithateam.

Full-timepositionwithacombinationofofficeandfieldresponsibilities.

Mustbecomfortableworkingoutdoorsinvaryingweatherconditions.

Abilitytostandforextendedperiods,bend,twist,andworkinconfinedspaces.

Abilitytoliftandcarryupto
50poundsasneeded.
