The position combines hands-on field work with close collaboration with engineering, field personnel, and third party vendors to deliver high quality, resilient power and control solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support services for site integration, site delivery, and maintenance of UIG projects and Grid Sure control systems.
  • Deploy distributed generation control systems, including PLC programming, SCADA and remote monitoring solutions, protective relay programming, battery storage applications, generators, networking equipment, and system control architectures.
  • Review project specifications and drawings with the broader engineering team and identify previous projects of similar type to inform design and implementation.
  • Provide technical support to field personnel, engineering teams, and third party vendors to resolve integration and operational issues.
  • Deliver commissioning and integration support in the field for the installation and startup of UIG products and projects.

  • Provide guidance on applicable codes and standards related to products, including UL (or equivalent) standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Support Grid Sure applications both in the field and remotely, including troubleshooting and optimization of cloud based monitoring and control.
  • Monitor project schedules, ensure milestone dates are achieved, and raise issues early when milestones are at risk.
  • Review and verify drawing packages prior to submittal and release to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate and document technical information for internal teams to maintain alignment across engineering, manufacturing, and field operations.
  • Resolve outstanding questions or issues related to system design, integration, and configuration.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
  • Collaborate cooperatively with engineers, drafters, manufacturing personnel, and field teams to deliver quality engineering designs and implementations.
  • Communicate clearly in English, both orally and in writing, with engineers, drafters, manufacturing personnel, and customers via phone and facetoface interactions.
  • Help keep the overall engineering and project schedule on track by owning program level design and support efforts.
  • Own and support program level design and integration activities for assigned projects, ensuring technical consistency and quality across deployments.
Essential Skills
