Job Description & How to Apply Below
Accentuate Staffing is working with an established, employee-owned industrial equipment and engineering services company to hire a Mechanical CAD Designer. This role supports customers that rely on large processing equipment and gives the designer direct ownership of practical replacement-part and equipment-support projects, with structured training and long-term growth potential.
The ideal candidate has substantial hands-on experience creating mechanical parts, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings in Solid Works. The work includes measuring or scanning existing components, converting field information into accurate CAD, documenting dimensions and tolerances, and communicating with technical teams and customers at active industrial sites.
- Create and revise detailed 2D drawings, 3D part models, and mechanical assemblies using Solid Works and related CAD tools.
- Develop accurate replacement-part documentation from physical components, field measurements, existing drawings, specifications, and 3D scan data.
- Support reverse-engineering projects by gathering dimensions, validating fit and function, and translating findings into manufacturing-ready technical documentation.
- Visit customer facilities to inspect equipment, collect measurements or scans, clarify technical requirements, and support practical problem solving.
- Coordinate with internal specialists, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing resources to resolve design questions and maintain drawing accuracy.
- Learn specialized scanning, reverse-engineering, and equipment-application tools while building knowledge of industrial components and operating environments
- Demonstrated experience creating mechanical CAD models and detailed drawings; strong Solid Works proficiency is highly preferred.
- Ability to interpret dimensions, tolerances, mechanical drawings, and the physical relationships among parts and assemblies.
- Practical mechanical aptitude developed through design, machining, fabrication, manufacturing, maintenance, or comparable hand-on work.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work directly with customers, maintenance teams, suppliers, and technical colleagues.
- Willingness to travel regionally, enter active industrial facilities, work safely around large equipment, and gather accurate field measurements.
- Reverse engineering, 3D scanning, precision measurement, Geomagic Design X, Artec Studio, or related education is helpful but not required.
