This is a hybrid position assigned to our Raleigh Headquarters location.
The North Carolina Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Distribution Specialist I in our Financial Services department. The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare monthly, quarterly, or annual transfers of tax revenues to other state agencies as required by NC General Statutes. This position will perform procedures to ensure accurate & timely processing of returns and/or payments to the department’s tax system.
This position also reviews Public Educational, and Governmental (PEG) Channel Certification Forms received from local governments annually to determine eligibility for PEG Channel funding. Position provides assistance to the local governments and qualifying municipalities of North Carolina for the monthly distribution of sales and use tax as well as various quarterly distribution of other taxes.

*** Working knowledge of taxation and enforcement provisions of one or more schedules of the revenue codes including pertinent court decisions, Attorney General rulings, and administrative regulations; and methods and procedures used in collecting delinquent taxes
* Ability to analyze routine tax problems and make proper application of tax laws, interpretations, and regulations; evaluate and exercise
* Judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting departmental policies and procedures; and communicate clearly and concisely in oral or written form
* Possess a thorough knowledge of the tax schedule(s)
Recruitment Range: $53,164 - $83,070
