We are recruiting a Controller for a growing company in Raleigh. This role will lead an accounting function during a time of rapid growth and operational scaling. Ideal for someone who enjoys balancing big-picture financial leadership with day-to-day execution. You'll partner closely with leadership, build out the accounting infrastructure, and help shape the future of the finance function as they grow.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all core accounting operations — including general ledger management, A/R, A/P, and financial reporting
- Execute monthly and year-end close processes to ensure accurate, timely results
- Prepare internal and external financial statements, including materials for executive and board-level reporting
- Manage local tax filings and coordinate with outside firms on tax provision prep
- Build and document accounting policies and procedures that scale with the business
- Support company-wide planning through financial modeling and business case development
- Oversee capital expenditures, asset tracking, and alignment with budget plans
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all journal entries and accruals are complete and accurate
- Lead initiatives to automate accounting processes and reduce manual work
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial workflows with broader business operations
- Maintain strong internal controls and support GAAP compliance, including revenue recognition.
- Prepare for and support financial audits
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, tools, and processes
What You Bring
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including leadership in a scaling company. CPA is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Experience leading or building out an accounting function
- Proven ability to implement process improvements and automation tools
- Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-moving environment
- Clear communicator with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach
