Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller — CPA Required | ASC 606/842 | Inventory

Our client is looking for an Assistant Controller for their growing accounting team. This newly created role will support the Controller and CFO in scaling the finance function. This individual will lead core accounting operations and contribute to strategic initiatives such as budgeting, forecasting, and board reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of public and industry experience, with strong technical accounting skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

• Lead monthly and annual close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Oversee billing, commissions, payroll, accounts payable, and collections
• Manage inventory accounting and valuation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Support lease accounting (ASC 842), fixed asset tracking, and tax filings
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate revenue recognition and contract compliance
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of board-level financial reports
• Drive process improvements and system implementations
• Partner with external auditors and tax professionals during audits and filings

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA preferred (or eligible)
• 3+ years in public accounting (Big 4 or equivalent preferred)
• 2+ years in industry, ideally in healthcare or life sciences
• Experience with inventory, cost of goods sold, ASC 842 lease compliance, and board reporting
• Familiarity with Net Suite or similar ERP systems
