The Opportunity:

Are you ready to impact financial strategy within a fast-moving, project-driven construction and energy services environment? Our client, a leader in the Construction industry, is seeking a detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to advance operational visibility and financial performance. This hybrid position in Hope Mills, NC offers a unique opportunity to support key business decisions, partner with project management and operations teams, and develop sophisticated financial models for both corporate and project-level initiatives.

Ideal for those with strong analytical focus and a collaborative spirit looking to drive sustainable growth within the dynamic energy and construction sector.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-year financial plans at both corporate and project levels.
  • Maintain detailed models for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, including tracking project revenue timing, direct costs, and working capital.
  • Partner with operations and project teams to analyze key business drivers such as project backlog, utilization, day rates, and equipment costs.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and conduct variance analyses (actual vs. forecast vs. budget).
  • Analyze project margins, profitability, overhead allocation, and recommend improvements for financial performance and resource optimization.
  • Streamline and document forecasting/reporting processes, including enhancing automation and data accuracy using Excel and BI tools.
  • Conduct ROI analyses, sensitivity modeling, and cash flow forecasts for strategic projects and business cases.
  • Support accurate revenue recognition and project cost reporting in collaboration with accounting teams.
Must-Have

Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, project finance, or corporate finance, preferably within energy, engineering, or construction.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and project cost accounting in service-based organizations.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Adaptive, Tableau) and ERP systems (Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, Workday).
Nice-to-Have

Skills:
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA certification.
  • Experience supporting financial system enhancements and integration initiatives.
  • Strong data visualization and manipulation for management reporting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to partner across teams.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for managing multiple priorities under deadlines.
