Job Description
The Disaster Program Delivery Specialist coordinates and reviews applicant data to determine eligibility and priority of assignments. Activities include audits for completeness, reviewing preliminary damage assessment data, making exploratory calls to gather information from applicants, and understanding each applicant’s projects and recovery priorities.
Supports the communication process with the applicant about their status by scheduling regular meetings, tracking and following up on FEMA requests. Coordinates the transmittal of documents through FEMA’s Consolidated Resource Centers using a web‑based tool, schedules site inspections, and identifies when technical expertise may be needed.
Supports the claims process by reviewing and validating damage details, scopes of work, and costs. Participates in FEMA meetings by providing updates, evaluates claims, and makes recommendations regarding eligibility. Assists with the development of the Determination Memo and communicates final determinations to applicants during close out. Conducts an exit briefing with the applicant and performs other duties as required.
May coordinate and complete basic to moderately complex site inspections to validate and record damage for the FEMAPublic Assistance grant delivery process.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a FEMA Badge, which includes a background investigation for a Public Trust position.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Domestic travel required.
- 5 years of in‑field experience (2 years with a bachelor’s degree).
