Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $31.92 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Details of the Position:
This temporary position will be assigned to the NC Dept of Natural and Cultural Resources
- Division of Land and Water Stewardship. The selected candidate for this role will enter and manage occurrence records of rare plants, animals, and natural communities for the Natural Heritage Program. This includes:

• Reviewing records of observations for accuracy and completeness
• Mapping occurrences in a GIS-based web platform
• Entering tabular data into the Biotics database

• Demonstrated experience working with large data sets
• Demonstrated experience working with and reviewing data from citizen science websites such as eBird, iNaturalist, and Herp Mapper
• Demonstrated experience performing quality control to identify and correct outliers or errors in biological or geographic data
• Ability to analyze, manipulate and evaluate information/data, including the use of software.
