UNC Health Rex Cancer Center is seeking a full‑time psychologist to provide psychotherapy to adult patients in our quality‑of‑life department. Our support services department includes psychiatry, palliative care, rehabilitation program, and chaplain services. Our patients currently have access to a free 12‑week exercise program, yoga, support groups, and a program for children who are affected by parents with cancer. It is preferred that the candidate has experience working with patients who have a serious medical illness.

The visits will be a combination of telehealth and in‑person visits. The position is located at the main cancer center in Raleigh and supports patients within our community oncology program.

Provides comprehensive psychology services to patients and their families with duties to include evaluations, outpatient clinical consultation, patient and family counseling (e.g., understanding of medical/clinical procedures, emotional adaptation to chronic illness, adjustment to procedures, adherence to medical regimen), and collaboration during team meetings, multi‑disciplinary conferences, regarding listing decisions and patient management strategies.

• Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.

• Currently licensed as a Psychologist and eligible to practice in the state of North Carolina or within three months of start date.

• Previous experience highly preferred but not required.
