Raleigh Ophthalmology is a busy well‑established, progressive eleven physician group with subspecialty care in cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastics, pediatrics, and comprehensive eye care services. We have a robust practice, with three area office locations and dozens of bright, qualified employees who help us deliver the best service and patient care in our medical specialty.

We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high‑volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision‑making.

Ophthalmic skills
  • Obtaining and documenting patient history
  • Determining visual acuity
  • Performing automated refraction
  • Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
  • Performing office duties and clinical tasks — entering data into EMRPproviding patient services
  • Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry)
    Pre‑operative preparation of patient
  • Maintaining equipment and instruments
  • 2 to 3 years of ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred
  • COA preferred
  • Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
  • Must be flexible with traveling to various locations.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
  • The ability to recognize inconsistencies
Education/Certifications
  • Graduation from an accredited high school
