Overview

Mobile Crisis Management involves all support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated crisis response, crisis stabilization interventions, and crisis prevention activities. Services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing timely evaluation, triage, and access to acute mental health, developmental disability and/or substance abuse services. The role ensures symptom and harm reduction and safely guides people in acute crisis to appropriate crisis stabilization and detoxification support/services.

Immediate telephone responses assess crisis, determine risk, mental status, medical stability, and appropriate response.

Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis response for recipients 24/7/365.
  • Provide clinical oversight of crisis interventions as needed.
  • Provide immediate telephonic response to assess crisis, determine risk, mental status, medical stability, and appropriate response; provide face‑to‑face response as needed.
  • Develop a Crisis Plan before discharge for recipients new to the public service system and/or revise existing Crisis Plan components in Person Centered Plans as appropriate.
  • Obtain authorization after the first 32 units of service are rendered for additional services.
  • Complete documentation of a daily full‑service note for each day/evening service is provided.
  • Coordinate movement across levels of care, directly to the person and the family, and coordinate discharge planning and community re‑entry following hospitalization, residential services and other levels.
  • Monitor and manage presenting psychiatric and/or addiction symptoms.
  • Provide linkage to appropriate services, including transportation if needed.
  • Forward documentation to designated staff in a timely manner as required.
  • Help maintain the self‑respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each recipient.
  • Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to recipients and families.
  • Attend all mandatory staff meetings and consumer conferences as directed, or give advance notice to the Mobile Crisis Director or designee for inability to attend.
  • Report any changes in consumer’s condition, family situation, or needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Report any accident or incident immediately to the Mobile Crisis Director or designee.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation of recipients to the Mobile Crisis Director or designee.
  • Be familiar with TA, Inc. policies and procedures, including securing of emergency services and regulations concerning medication administration.
  • Be familiar with HIPAA regulations and abide by them.
  • Assure consumer rights are met and maintain consumer confidentiality at all times.
  • Obtain and keep current all training required by the agency.
  • Perform other duties as required by circumstances.
Qualifications
  • Must be a Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist, or Registered Nurse in the state of NC.
  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than human services.
  • Have at least four years of full‑time, post‑bachelor’s‑degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or be a substance abuse professional with four years of full‑time post‑bachelor’s‑degree supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.
  • Have a minimum of one year experience in providing crisis management services in assertive outreach, assertive community treatment, emergency department or other 24/7 response settings.
  • Be able to push, pull, lift, and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Be able to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
  • Have a valid NC Driver’s License and maintain it during employment.
  • Have a clear DMV record and maintain it during employment.
  • Have at least eight years of driving experience, as required by the company’s liability insurance carrier.
  • Have no substantiated findings on the NC Health Care Registry.
