Craft Recruiter - Southeast at Conti Civil, LLC.

Conti Civil is a fourth generation, privately owned construction leader specializing in infrastructure projects. Built on a 110+ year foundation of honesty and integrity, our company has grown and evolved with each generation to become a highly respected civil contractor for clients nationwide.

What We Are Looking For

The Craft Recruiter – Southeast will lead all recruiting efforts for skilled craft positions across our Southeast projects. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and engaging qualified craft professionals, building strong talent pipelines, coordinating hiring efforts with project leadership, and ensuring a positive candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.

This role requires a full‑time on‑site presence with regular travel to jobsites, hiring events, trade schools, and networking events throughout the Southeast to build relationships, expand talent pools, and support field leadership with workforce planning needs. Because a significant portion of the craft workforce is Spanish‑speaking,
fluency in Spanish is required to ensure clear communication, equitable hiring practices, and strong candidate relationships.

The Craft Recruiter will serve as a strategic partner to Superintendents, Project Managers, and HR leadership to ensure we maintain a steady workforce of safe, reliable, and skilled craft personnel.

Responsibilities Recruiting & Talent Pipeline Development
  • Lead all recruiting efforts for craft positions including equipment operators, laborers, carpenters, pipe layers, concrete finishers, and other skilled field roles.
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines through proactive outreach, networking, referrals, social media, job boards, and local partnerships.
  • Conduct pre‑screening interviews (in both English and Spanish as needed) to assess experience, safety record, certifications, and job readiness.
  • Partner with project leadership to forecast craft staffing needs and support short‑term and long‑term workforce planning.
Field & Community Engagement
  • Travel regularly to jobsites across the Southeast to meet with candidates, understand workforce needs, and maintain alignment with project teams.
  • Attend job fairs, trade schools, workforce development events, and community organizations to strengthen local hiring efforts.
  • Build relationships with Hispanic/Latino community groups, workforce programs, and trade organizations to expand Spanish‑speaking candidate pipelines.
Hiring Coordination & Compliance
  • Coordinate interviews, skills assessments, and hiring decisions with field leadership; ensure consistent and compliant hiring practices.
  • Support Spanish‑speaking candidates through every step of the process to ensure clarity and accessibility.
  • Track candidate certifications and verify required documents to ensure readiness for site deployment.
  • Support onboarding by coordinating start dates, orientations, and delivery of required safety and HR documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of candidate activity, communication, and hiring metrics.
Branding & Candidate Experience
  • Represent Conti Civil professionally at all recruiting events and in the field, promoting our culture, values, and employment opportunities.
  • Develop creative recruiting campaigns that highlight our projects, benefits, safety culture, and career pathways.
  • Ensure each candidate—English and Spanish speaking—receives timely communication and a respectful hiring experience.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
  • Work with HR leadership to improve craft recruiting processes, systems, and reporting methods.
  • Provide regular updates on hiring progress, workforce gaps, and market trends.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding workflows.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Fluent in Spanish (required) – able to conduct interviews, explain processes, and communicate confidently with Spanish‑speaking candidates.
