Role OverviewWe're seeking a part-time Director of People and Culture to establish and lead our people operations. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who wants to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexibility in schedule and workload. You'll build the foundations of HR at Coalmarch, partnering with company leadership to create a healthy and high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and oversee HR policies, employee handbook, and compliance with state/federal laws
- Manage recruiting processes: job postings, interviews, onboarding, and off‑boarding
- Guide managers and leaders on employee relations, performance management, and coaching
- Support compensation, benefits, and payroll processes in partnership with Rippling (ASO)
- Lead employee engagement, recognition, and culture‑building initiatives
- Implement training and development programs aligned with company values and growth needs
- Ensure HR data accuracy, reporting, and documentation compliance
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification a plus)
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally including leadership in a high‑growth or services business
- Familiarity with EOS or similar business operating systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; trusted advisor to leadership and employees alike
- Located in the Raleigh area with the ability to work on‑site as needed

This is a salaried part‑time role and the pay range is:
50,000. USD per year (Raleigh, NC)
