Collibra Product Design Team – UX Designer

We are seeking an experienced UX Designer to join our product design team, focusing on designing intuitive and innovative user experiences for a complex data application. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in UX design principles, a deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies, and the ability to translate complex data into user-friendly interfaces. Specifically, you’ll be joining a growing product organization working on our enterprise SaaS platform and will help the team ensure that it aligns to our global design patterns and meets both user and business needs.

This is a hybrid role based in our Raleigh, NC office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.

Responsibilities
  • Create intuitive, visually clean interfaces that make managing complex data feel accessible and efficient on our platform.
  • Work with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure designs are both technically feasible and aligned with user needs.
  • Develop wireframes or low and high fidelity prototypes to effectively communicate user flows and functionality.
  • Communicate designs clearly, concisely, and effectively to project stakeholders.
  • Utilize user personas and define journey maps to guide design processes.
  • Plan and conduct usability testing sessions and user interviews to gather feedback, then iterate on designs based on those insights.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure implementation of designs meets our UX standards, remains true to the original designs, and utilizes our established design system.
  • Proactively manage your own tasks and deadlines, communicating status and potential blockers to your manager and stakeholders.
  • Actively use and contribute to our design system, ensuring all work is consistent with Collibra’s brand and UI patterns.
Qualifications
  • A portfolio of full-lifecycle projects demonstrating your ability to apply UX principles to complex web and desktop applications, delivering goal‑centered designs that balance user needs with business impact.
  • Proficiency in Figma for creating wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity mockups.
  • Experience using project management tools (e.g., Asana, Jira) for task management and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with SaaS enterprise platforms, data visualization, and technical literacy preferred.
  • A degree in Design, HCI or a related field, combined with 5+ years of professional UX/UI design experience (or an equivalent blend of education and work history).
Candidate Profile
  • Able to work with a wide variety of UX approaches, patterns, and implementation styles.
  • Able to leverage, contribute, and/or influence design system components and visual styles.
  • Facilitate design critiques and inceptions (workshops).
  • Experience balancing user needs, business goals/strategy, and technical constraints when making decisions.
Measures of Success
  • Month 1:
Deep dive into onboarding, understanding our products, and getting to know the team.
  • Month 2:
Begin contributing to active projects by developing wireframes and prototypes for new features or improvements.
  • Month 3:
Finalize high‑fidelity mockups and detailed design specifications for implementation.
