You will be part of a multi‑disciplinary Data Engineering team within Group CTO working closely with specialists across multiple areas of Group Technology. We are providing the foundation for data‑driven technology management – facilitating processes starting from strategic and architecture planning, to demand management‑all the way to development and deployment. Our team is global based primarily in India, Switzerland, UK and the US.

Your role will be based in our Raleigh, NC. Office.

• join UBS Group Technology in the build‑out and implementation of our firms Enterprise Data Mesh to make a step change in the management of data in our bank
• build an enterprise data mesh linking our data
• ensure Data Architecture for IT enables transition to real time access to data
• institute 'knowledge‑as‑a‑service' approach – allowing management of the technical landscape

• strong hands‑on programming languages like Python on cloud and should be well versed implementing python code using object‑oriented principles, functional programming & data structures
• good knowledge on SQL query implementation and database concepts and knowledge around working with data storage technologies open table formats like delta lakes, iceberg
• experience in implementing REST APIs in python or other programming languages
• experience working in database technologies including RDBMS and No
  
  SQL
• able to quickly understand the requirements and implement required technical solutions
• having a great track record delivering hands‑on development and design of data platforms. ideally API-driven data/knowledge-as-a-service solutions and experience working in delivery-oriented agile teams
• nice to have hands‑on experience with Spark & SQL technologies, exposure to cloud development with Azure and or AWS, experience building modern solutions (Kafka data streaming, Azure cloud-native) and experience delivering solutions for Data Analytics users of e.g. Tableau, PowerBI
• financial Services background is advantageous, but not mandatory
