We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead our Container Platforms Engineering and Operations team. This role combines technical leadership with people management responsibilities, overseeing a team of 10+ professionals (both FTEs and contractors). The ideal candidate will drive technical strategy, roadmap development, and execution for our container platforms, ensuring reliability and scalability for critical applications on-prem today and cloud tomorrow (AWS/Azure).

• Define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for container platforms (1-2 year horizon).
• Architect solutions for Open Shift deployments on bare metal and on-prem environments.
• Lead modernization initiatives, including Rancher migration and future platform enhancements.
• Oversee design, build, and operations of Open Shift clusters, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement automation frameworks for provisioning, scaling, and patching.
• Drive observability, monitoring, and incident response for mission‑critical workloads.
• Enable hybrid and multi‑cloud strategies; collaborate with cloud engineering teams for networking, security, and governance.
• Provide direction and oversight to IT projects; maintain regulatory compliance and best practices for security and operations.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and contractors; foster collaboration and stakeholder relationships.
• Drive initiatives independently and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of experience in applications development, analysis, or systems engineering; or High School Diploma/GED and at least 10 years of experience in the same fields.
• Strong experience with Open Shift (on‑prem and bare metal).
• Experience with Rancher, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Cloud experience (AWS/Azure) highly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead large technical teams (strategy & HR responsibilities).
• Excellent relationship‑building and communication skills; ability to earn trust and influence technical teams.
• Proactive, go‑getter mindset with strategic thinking and hands‑on technical credibility.
• Experience in regulated financial services industry a plus.

The base pay for this position is generally between $102,000 and $157,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non‑discriminatory factors. Total compensation may include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
