The Role
ClearyX is an independently operated subsidiary of Cleary Gottlieb
, a preeminent global law firm with 16 offices on four continents. ClearyX is not a law firm, but we are focused on building alternative models of legal services through innovative combinations of people, technology and process discipline. We are a team of forward-thinking subject matter experts, project managers and technologists working to innovate and improve how legal services are delivered and experienced.
Client Discovery & Requirements Gathering
- Supporting initial prospective client discussions to build relationships, uncover opportunities, and specific problems to be solved.
- Documenting client use cases clearly and comprehensively to systematically inform tailored product demonstrations, pilot designs, and structured internal knowledge sharing.
- Bridging the technical-legal gap by contextualizing how ClearyX solutions map onto the work and obligations of corporate in-house legal teams.
- Developing deep, comprehensive technical proficiency in CX+ and the broader ClearyX technology stack to present compelling, high-impact product demonstrations tailored to prospective client requirements.
- Leading initial client case study discussions to illustrate practical, real-world applications and metrics achieved by existing implementations.
- Collaborating closely with prospective clients to explicitly define requirements, success criteria, timelines, and operational guardrails for product and platform pilots.
- Proactively tracking and maintaining opportunities within the sales ecosystem, ensuring that prospective clients move efficiently through the procurement and evaluation pipeline.
- Providing regular updates on pipeline, client engagement status, next steps, and potential execution risks to leadership.
- Staying continuously aligned with developments in Gen AI tools, contract lifecycle management, virtual data rooms, and workflow automation to offer consultative advice and solution alternatives to clients where appropriate.
- Feeding back structured market insights, recurring client feature requests, and usability challenges directly into the product development team to contribute to continuous platform refinement.
This position requires an analytical, consultative, and highly organized professional who possesses a unique mix of relationship development, technical curiosity, corporate legal familiarity, and exceptional client-facing communication skills. The successful candidate will bring an understanding of legal tech trends, legal department work flows and expectations, and the business acumen necessary to act as a trusted advisor to prospective clients. He or she will have exceptional listening skills, able to accurately reflect client needs and requirements, and quickly respond to specific client needs and requests.
DesiredQualifications Include
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a consultative client-facing role, such as a Solutions Consultant, Legal Technologist, Legal Business Development or Product Specialist within the legal technology, B2B SaaS, or legal services industry.
- Solid conceptual understanding of corporate legal work, workflow dynamics of in-house legal departments, and standard corporate transactions/operations.
- Strong technical proficiency with legal technology tools or enterprise platforms; experience with generative AI integration, document automation, and workflow management software is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly document complex corporate workflows and translate them into highly organized client-facing proposals and product demonstrations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven agility in presenting to audiences varying from corporate general counsel to legal operations professionals and IT compliance teams.
- Excellent listening skills, able to accurately synthesize requirements, respond to unexpected client interests, and flexibly adapt to client requests and questions.
- A process-oriented, solutions-focused mindset with a track record of driving cross-functional collaboration and moving complex opportunities cleanly through structured pipelines.
