Role Overview This position is for a Service Now Architect, specifically acting as a Service Now CMDB Manager. The role requires an individual who can operate across architecture, development, administration, governance, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will own the CMDB architecture and strategy while remaining hands-on, guide stakeholders through complex decisions, and communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities Own and design the CMDB architecture, data model, and strategy in alignment with Service Now CSDM best practices.

Establish and enforce CMDB governance policies, CI ownership, data stewardship standards, and management protocols.

Configure, manage, and optimize Service Now Discovery and integrate third-party data sources (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware, Infoblox, Lansweeper).Assess the current environment, conduct gap analysis, and develop a practical CMDB maturity roadmap.

Ensure CMDB data supports and enriches key ITSM processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

Act as the subject matter expert for the CMDB, creating training, documentation, and standards for CI owners.

Perform development, administration, and troubleshooting tasks as needed.

Define, track, and report on CMDB health KPIs, including completeness, accuracy, and compliance.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a similar and applicable field of study.

Experience:

10+ years implementing enterprise IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
8+ years of experience leading Service Now architecture engagements.
4+ years in cloud infrastructure technologies.

At least one full lifecycle Service Now implementation in the role of a lead architect.

Technical

Skills:

Deep understanding of Service Now core infrastructure, CMDB, ITSM, CSM, SPM, and GRC.Proficient in Service Now scripting languages (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and application development best practices.

Experience with Service Now integrations, including REST APIs, SOAP, and other integration methods.
