Summary

The Asset Protection Field Manager conducts professional risk evaluations and investigations of insured properties within the jewelry, pawnbroker, and other policyholder base of Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group. The risk evaluations and investigations will incorporate standard physical, electronic, and procedural assessments but also take lead on education and engagement opportunities or assessments with our customers. This position will have limited authority to bind limit or coverage changes with the customer on-site to make a more valuable and wholistic customer experience.

The Field AP Manager will provide consultative advice to customers on a variety of best practices to ensure the safety and security of their property and introduce holistic program offerings and warm leads for risk transfer to a qualified Agent/Broker within JM Group.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop standardized formats for capturing all relevant information required to complete formal, professional reports on subject properties, ensuring value for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to enhance field visit efficiency; collaborate with leadership to assess and implement new platforms that assist with scope and scale.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and data (i.e., Underwriting, Sales, Claims, etc.) to determine a cadence and track (in‑person, virtual, vendor, etc.) of auditable, customer‑facing inspection criteria and pipeline for visits.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of jewelry and pawn businesses—both in‑person and virtually—to assess physical, electronic, and procedural security, as well as overall property condition and exposures relevant to their operations.
  • Provide expert consultative advice to property owners on best practices for securing their property and mitigating risk.
  • Facilitate coverage decisions by collaborating with stakeholders to address customer concerns and bind limits or coverage changes as appropriate while onsite to support a value‑added customer experience.
  • Where there is no risk transfer mechanism—work with the agents and brokers to identify areas of opportunity to address risk and initiate warm lead transfer.
  • Engage with law enforcement agencies at local, state, and federal levels to support complex investigations affecting policyholders and the jewelry industry.
  • Partner with industry and trade associations to analyze crime data, promote risk awareness, and recommend effective risk services tools and products.
  • Document and consolidate findings from property evaluations into professional reports for key stakeholders (Underwriters, Claim Adjusters), including actionable recommendations for improvements or modifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of all evaluations in applicable databases for book analysis; ensure requirements and recommendations are auditable and actions are tracked according to severity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize target locations for inspection.
  • Plan and execute travel to inspection sites independently, optimizing for efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business, or safety related field.
