Overview
This is a hybrid role located in Raleigh, NC with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. Three days a week in the office. Open to remote in several markets for highly qualified candidate.
This Manager Risk Analytics will be part of the Business Operations team in Modeling and Analytics (M&A) group within the Finance organization in the Bank. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the execution of the ongoing risk rating model development roadmap and related project plan, including identifying, escalating and facilitating strategies to address potential risks before they become project roadblocks.
The role will work with Senior Director Business Operations in liaising with the risk rating model implementation team to maintain seamless communication between the two programs leading to successful deployment of the risk rating models. Additionally, the successful candidate will support Senior Director Business Development in managing the Modeling and Analytics group’s vendor related budget and the related vendor communication.
The role is fast paced, offers broad organizational visibility, and provides the opportunity to gain cross‑functional exposure across several key areas of the Bank and will report to Senior Director, Business Operations, Modeling and Analytics (M&A) Group.
Responsibilities- Coordination – Works closely with M&A leadership, internal team, and external service providers to manage and maintain Risk Rating model development Project Plan tasks, milestones, timelines and deliverables and helps with Resource Assignment planning as needed. Maintains communication with the risk rating implementation team and works on strategies to address any identified gaps.
- Identifying Risk – Identifies dependencies and risks within and outside the project and facilitates development of resolution strategies before the identified risks become project roadblocks.
- Reporting – Sets meeting agendas, tracks action items; provides consolidated weekly status updates, helps draft internal and external stakeholder communication. Reports the project and budget progress to the Integration Management Office (IMO).
- Analysis – Maintains and analyses group’s vendor budget M&A and provides monthly reports to senior management on the budget status.
- Managerial Functions – Manages the performance, training and evaluation of any assigned junior staff.
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Risk Management or Analytics in the Financial Services industry, and management role OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Risk Management or Analytics in the Financial Services industry, and management role.
Preferred Education:
Post graduate degree.
Preferred Area of Study:
Quantitative discipline or other related fields.
Preferred
Skills:
- Understanding of one or more of the following - credit risk modeling, risk ratings and/or credit loss forecasting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to craft appropriate communication for effective internal and external stakeholder management.
- Excellent organization skills to manage near and long‑term deliverables.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and Visio.
- Knowledge of one more of the following is a plus - risk and controls framework for Operational/SOX controls, Agile principles, Tableau.
