Pharma​/Biopharma Senior Superintendent

Role Summary

The Senior Superintendent will plan, manage and execute all aspects of significantly complex or multiple projects. The position is responsible for managing the team, planning construction sequencing, and meeting project goals to complete projects on time and profitably. All activities support JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.

• Leads the safety culture, demonstrates commitment to an injury‑free environment, investigates incidents, and retrains staff.
• Manages subcontractors, organizes overall job workflow, and coordinates material and equipment needs.
• Develops work plans for subcontractors and self‑performed work.
• Creates, manages, changes, and implements the project schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.
• Provides leadership in daily stand‑up and weekly trade meetings and attends OAC progress meetings.
• Tracks and monitors project budget and costs, approves unit cost information for weekly reports, and completes daily logs.
• Communicates key project information to owners, design teams, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
• Supports project closeouts by supervising pre‑punch activities and coordinating activities with the owner, architect, and governing authorities.
• Manages timecard approval process to ensure accurate hours and proper cost codes.
• Ensures quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC standards, and outside resources.

• Manages complex standalone or multiple projects from initial planning to completion.
• Manages projects with multiple superintendents and influences delivery results through others.
• Understands and executes key strategic initiatives to support company strategy.
• Provides training and education to support company and/or region training initiatives.
• Engages in business, industry, and community activities to build and strengthen external relationships.
• Takes a lead role with the project team in the project pursuit process.
• Collaborates with the marketing team on related presentations and marketing activities.
• Develops new business opportunities and generates future work by cultivating and maintaining long‑term relationships with clients.
• Assumes responsibility for management, scheduling, production, safety and quality on projects or a portion of projects.
• Identifies, understands and actively manages project risks.
• Utilizes awareness, experience, and knowledge to identify problems and recommend solutions for review and implementation by the team.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.

• 10+ years construction experience.
• 8+ years field supervision experience.
• 6+ years pharma/biopharma project experience preferred.
• Experience leading Lean principles on projects preferred.

• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• May require periods of travel and/or relocation.
