Essential Functions
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Disaster Service Worker Program, a comprehensive education and training program for county employees related to emergency and disaster situations
  • Develop, facilitate, coordinate, and deliver drills and exercises with varying degrees of complexity in a manner sufficient enough to stress the audience(s)
  • Maintain training and exercise participation records
  • Support Emergency Management functions and activities

Required The Basics (Required

Education and Experience )
  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or related field
  • Two years of experience in program management
  • Two years of experience in an adult learning environment
  • HICS 400
  • Valid Driver's License and safe driving record
  • Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred

Education and Experience )
  • Two years of experience in program management
  • Two years of experience in an adult learning environment
Preferred
  • Two years of experience in public safety programs
  • Experience in using a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program Certification (HSEEP)
  • Instructor Methodology

  • Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of state and federal guidelines and procedures related to preparedness, exercise design, and implementation to identify new practices and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, as well as external partners, with tact and diplomacy
