This individual unloads merchandise from incoming freight and moves it to the appropriate location in the production and storage areas. This individual ensures all items received are done so with strict adherence to our quality standards. This individual may also operate warehouse equipment such as a forklift or electric pallet jack and scissor lift and must do so safely.
Essential Functions- Primary responsibility is to ensure that all incoming deliveries are received and put away correctly and completely each day.
- Accurately complete all quality control procedures and documents as part of the receiving process (e.g., record temperatures, expiration dates, package conditions, etc.)
- Complete all receiving documentation
- Record and report any discrepancies with shipments to the supply office.
- Perform all duties in the safest manner possible.
- Report potential hazards and unsafe work conditions to the Receiving Lead or Commissary Manager.
- Regular and timely attendance is a requirement for this position.
- Perform regular counts of stored materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping areas, loading dock, and trash areas.
- Complete daily quality logs.
- Complete the loss log for tracking spoiled or damaged inventory.
- Work closely with the production department to ensure proper stock and inventory of needed materials.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and inspected according to operating procedures.
- Adhere to shipping policies/procedures and regulatory compliance procedures.
- At times assist and work in other areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience required in supply, purchasing, receiving, or inventory.
- Previous experience operating forklifts with preference to current forklift certification.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
- Must be able to count.
- Be able to understand documents, such as purchase orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.
- Must be willing to work weekends.
- Ability to work quickly and safely.
- Ability to show flexibility in working in various areas of the department.
- Ability to know how one's performance affects the areas before and after you.
- Ability to read and speak to understand instructions from supervisors and coworkers.
