Lead Video Ad Copywriter

Launch Potato – Digital media company with over 30M+ monthly visitors. Headquarters:

We are a data‑driven, high‑growth media firm connecting consumers with leading brands through content and technology.

Compensation

Base salary: $110,000 – $135,000 per year. Additional: profit‑sharing bonus, competitive benefits. Future increases based on performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Elevate copywriting function to drive paid media performance and strengthen brand voice.
  • Own brand writing strategy across all paid media channels.
  • Develop and scale positioning playbooks.
  • Set creative quality standards for ad copy, landing pages, CTAs, and video scripts.
  • Oversee copy velocity and performance across paid social, search, display, and programmatic.
  • Analyze campaign data; identify top messaging patterns; guide optimizations.
  • Meet or exceed benchmarks for copy volume, quality, ROAS, and CTR.
  • Write high‑impact copy for key campaigns and rapid‑test environments.
  • Identify new copy angles from market trends, consumer insights, competitive messaging, and internal campaign data.
  • Translate insights into testable hypotheses and scalable messaging strategies that unlock incremental revenue.
  • Lead development of compelling video scripts that drive performance and meet compliance standards.
  • Partner with vertical leads and Compliance to ensure guardrails are clear, current, and proactively enforced.
  • Mitigate risk by maintaining alignment between copywriting strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a network of freelance writers and collaborators, ensuring high throughput and quality control.
  • Own the budget and resource allocation for writing support while maximizing ROI.
  • Build systems, workflows, and training resources to improve creative operations and knowledge sharing.
Essential Qualifications
  • 4–6 years of performance marketing copywriting experience.
  • 2+ years of creative leadership, editorial lead, or player/coach role managing writers or creative contributors.
  • Deep understanding of direct response principles, consumer psychology, and creative strategy for performance marketing.
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret campaign data and optimize based on insights.
  • High proficiency in writing compelling video scripts for platforms such as Tik Tok, Reels, and You Tube.
Experience & Competencies
  • Strategic copy leadership: develop and enforce standards, systems, and strategic messaging to drive scalable, high‑conversion creative.
  • Analytical & results‑driven: apply data analysis to inform creative iterations and improve campaign performance through insight‑led decision‑making.
  • Creative excellence: demonstrate exceptional writing ability across formats (ads, scripts, headlines, etc.) with attention to clarity, tone, and compliance.
  • Collaborative: partner cross‑functionally with Compliance, Creative, Growth, and Data to align messaging with business objectives.
  • Proactive & insightful: identify opportunities from market trends, consumer feedback, and channel data to inform high‑performing copy strategies.
  • Mentorship & ownership: lead contributors and freelancers while building scalable resources and systems for team success.
