Job SummaryWe are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to provide care to inpatient and outpatient oncology patients, with a focus on melanoma and GI cancers. Practice locations are the Duke Cancer Center in Cary and the Duke Cancer Center in Raleigh
, NC. Primary hours will be Monday through Friday, day shift, with hours flexible to meet the needs of the patients.
The ideal candidate has exceptional internal medicine skills and oncology experience. They will work with a multidisciplinary team providing direct patient care services. We invite you to apply to work with team of oncology caregivers who are dedicated to outstanding patient care.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Promote and maintain high standards of patient care throughout the continuum of cancer diagnosis.
- Elicit detailed and accurate patient histories and perform through physical examinations.
- Order appropriate diagnostic imaging and tests to determine medical and post treatment diagnoses, patient conditions, treatment toxicities.
- Formulate appropriate treatment plans with critical thinking skills and high‑level clinical judgement including prescribing appropriate medications.
- Chart patient progress maintaining detailed and accurate health records.
- Participate in clinical research projects and understand the importance of documentation of toxicities and data collection.
- Communication among multi‑disciplinary teams to support patient care.
- Collaborating, supporting and building strong relationships with supervising, back‑up supervising physicians, APP colleagues, and team members.
- Participate in education of patients, family members, new staff, students and other learners.
- See scheduled and unscheduled patients.
- Attend program required meetings.
- Maintain up to date clinical and professional knowledge via approved CME.
- Protect patient confidentiality, maintain ethics and abide by North Carolina laws and Duke Health System policies.
- Maintain institutional requirements for compliance.
- Ability to work in a team‑oriented clinic

Work requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master’s degree in Nursing. - Physician Assistants:
