Essential
Job Duties:
ICU assistant procedures include IV catheter placement, urinary catheterization, blood transfusions, blood pressure monitoring, fluid input/output, hourly treatments, patient rounds with coworkers and doctors.
- Perform IV, urinary, and nasal catheter placement.
- Monitor critically ill patients and provide ongoing care.
- Calculate and dose medications accurately.
- Assist with hourly treatments and patient rounds with coworkers and doctors.
- Perform blood transfusions and manage fluid input/output.
- Work Schedule:
Various hours, nights, weekends. - Minimum Experience/
Education:
Prefer previous experience in specialty/ICU as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant. - Department
Required Skills:
Monitoring critically ill patients, performing catheter placements, dosing medications, strong communication, and quick learning ability. - Preferred Experience:
Previous ICU specialty work as a veterinary technician or assistant. - Valid NC Driver's License:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $20-$28 per hour, commensurate with experience.
