# Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Registered Nurse – Western North Carolina

Schedule: Every other weekend required; flexibility to work all sections within the Emergency Department
Highlights:
- 101-bed Emergency Department at a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
- High-volume facility serving over 100,000 visits annually with robust support from techs and unit clerks on all shifts
- Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral health holds
- Cerner EMR system with GE monitoring equipment and Baxter pumps
- No floating outside the Emergency Department; flexibility required across all ED sections
- Flagship hospital recognized among the top 1% nationally for clinical quality and awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Grade
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Preferred:
Experience in a Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, or high-volume ED exceeding 100,000 visits - ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality with ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Commitment to patient experience standards including AIDET principles and respectful communication
