Due to our continued growth and success, we are currently seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to join our staff.
Supervises a team responsible for the inspection of materials and finished products received to the specification outlined on the order. Responsibilities include imparting knowledge and inspection techniques to direct reports, interpreting drawings, determining the proper sampling plans based on Material Classification Codes using Specifications, Inspection Plans, or Customer supplied requirements.
Essential Job Functions- Supervises a team of Quality Control Inspectors of various levels
- Conducts training of new and existing inspectors to follow documented procedures
- Performs root cause, corrective action activities in answer to internal and external CA, PA, NCRs, and/or SCARs
- Documents nonconforming parts issues within the quality system
- Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results
- Interfaces with the enterprise resource planning (ERP) tool to move material
- Identifies areas for improvement activities
- Quality workload
- Supplier issues and trends
- Inspection plans and trends
- Product conformity issues
- Certification issues
- Calibrated equipment issues
- Engineering drawings
- Inspection plans
- Customer requirements
- Certifications Calibrated equipment
- Individual must be able to work with limited supervision
- Time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills
- Individual must be able to work well in teams with others from diverse organizational functions and backgrounds
- This position requires strong communication skills
- This individual regularly works with restricted information
- Other duties as assigned
- Shall be familiar with ISO-9001 or similar Quality System
- Candidate should possess basic mathematical skills, such as adding, subtracting, and rounding decimal numbers.
- Candidate should possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and be detail oriented
- Candidate should be familiar with word processing and other basic computer skills
- Four years of experience as a Quality Inspector, at least 1 year in a supervisor role
- Must meet vision and color blindness standards, verified by medical documentation. New hires must pass an eye test before starting employment, and retesting occurs annually
- High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
- Ability to use shop match to calculate part measurements and work from drawings and catalogs.
- Experience using various precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and thread gauges.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office solutions
- Ability to lift 45 lbs.
