Job Title: CMT / Inspector / Field Engineer
Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced and entry-level CMT professionals, Special Inspectors, and Geotechnical Inspectors for a variety of projects throughout the Raleigh-Durham marketplace. We have immediate needs for Tech II and Tech III roles and opportunities for individuals who are new to the field and interested in joining our team.
Responsibilities- Conduct testing, analysis, and quality control of materials.
- Perform grain size analysis testing on soils.
- Conduct Atterberg Limit testing on soils.
- Perform moisture-density testing on soils.
- Conduct ASTM and NCDOT Hydrometers testing on soils.
- Perform laboratory resistivity testing on soils.
- Conduct grain size analysis on aggregates.
- Perform specific gravity tests on fine and coarse aggregates.
- Conduct dry rodded unit weight tests on aggregates.
- Perform compressive and flexural strength testing of concrete cylinders, beams, and cubes.
- Produce laboratory trial batches and sample and test fresh concrete for unit weight, air content, and make samples.
- Observe batch plant operations.
- Perform burn and gradation analysis on Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).
- Conduct maximum theoretical testing (Rice) on HMA.
- Perform specific gravity testing on HMA.
- Conduct absorption and compressive strength testing on masonry blocks.
- 2-3+ years of experience in the field.
- Experience with materials inspections, ACI, ICC, I.C.C., and Nicet.
- Proficiency in soils and concrete testing.
- Experience with masonry testing.
Skills & Qualifications
- No certifications required, but ACI certification is preferred.
- Willingness to learn and perform routine field and/or laboratory tasks.
- Ability to assist in complex tasks under the direction of other technicians or staff professionals.
This role involves working both in the field and in the laboratory. The work environment includes handling various construction materials and conducting tests to ensure quality control and compliance with standards.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
