Position Description:

Service Trade is a leading SaaS company transforming the fire protection and mechanical industries. We're seeking a motivated and skilled Business Development Representative to join our growing team. As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for engaging with prospects to introduce Service Trade's solution. The goal is to gain an understanding of the prospect's growth and business needs in order to generate qualified opportunities and work with Account Executives to move opportunities through the sales funnel.

About You:

Office Environment:

This position is based in our Durham/RTP, NC office for applicants in and around Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, and surrounding areas. Our office is located just off I-40 on Miami Blvd.

You'll join your teammates in the office three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday), creating space for great conversations, seamless collaboration, and a strong sense of team.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
  • Source, identify and develop new opportunities through outbound calls, emails, and social media
  • Effectively and persuasively communicate with customers using effective selling, listening and negotiation skills, proper terminology and approved messaging
  • Educate and inform potential customers of the value and ROI that our platform provides by demonstrating a strong understanding of our target market, industry knowledge, and value proposition
  • Qualify potential leads and book appointments for software demonstrations for our Account Executives
  • Ensure successful handoffs to our Sales teams
  • Meet monthly activity goals for calls and bookings as defined by sales leadership
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience:
    Proven experience in inside sales, lead generation, and business development
  • Communication Skills:
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills include positive and energetic phone skills, excellent written and oral communication
  • Sales Acumen:
    Ability to effectively communicate the value proposition of Service Trade as outlined within the training program
  • Mindset:
    Self-motivated and target-driven.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Industry Experience:
    Experience in the home service industry or trades is a plus
  • Work Ethic:
    Proven history of showing up, being dedicated, hitting deadlines, and continuous improvement
  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
