S&ME is seeking a professional to join our Environmental team in Raleigh, North Carolina as a Staff Industrial Hygienist and help us provide technical and high-quality engineering solutions to our clients.
Your Day-to-Day- Conduct Hazardous Material Assessments:
Perform field evaluations for asbestos, lead-based paint, and indoor air quality using standardized procedures. Collect samples, ensure quality control, and analyze data for accuracy and completeness. - Prepare Professional Reports:
Develop clear, detailed reports for small to medium-sized projects, including recommendations and findings. Collaborate with senior reviewers to ensure compliance and technical accuracy. - Develop Project Proposals:
Scope and price projects with routine technical objectives. Draft proposals for client review and assist in securing new business opportunities. - Support Business Development:
Represent the company at local professional organizations, participate in committees, and accompany senior staff on client visits to strengthen relationships and expand market presence. - Mentor Junior Team Members:
Provide guidance and training to junior staff on field data collection and observation tasks, fostering professional growth and maintaining high standards of work quality.
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or other related sciences
- A minimum of 2 years of industrial hygiene field sampling experience
- Good business and technical writing skills
- NC certified Asbestos Inspector
- Air Sampler or Monitor accreditation, a plus
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
