Overview
Temporary-Professional Non Faculty position at North Carolina State University. This role is up to 29 hours per week and supports research activities within the ITRE Research Group, primarily in roadway monitoring and roadway modeling. Responsibilities include assisting with research tasks related to web-mapping applications, updating Python scripts, and reporting, analysis, and communication with the research team and project sponsor. Additional tasks may be assigned based on the candidate’s background and expertise.
EssentialJob Duties
This position, up to 29 hours per week, will support research activities within the Research Group at ITRE primarily in the areas of roadway monitoring and roadway modeling, among others. This position will assist with research tasks related to web-mapping applications, as well as updating all Python scripts. Additional tasks may be assigned to this position in other relevant areas, based on the candidate’s background and expertise.
The candidate should also be proficient in reporting writing, analysis, and communicating with the research team and the project sponsor.

- Degree with strong GIS emphasis or Computer Science
- Work experience or coursework in Arc Enterprise, Arc Server, Python
- Familiarity with GIS ESRI software products including Arc Pro, Arc Enterprise (ArcGIS Server and Data Store), Postgre
SQL PostGIS - Familiarity with ArcGIS version upgrades
- Experience in publishing geoprocessing services from Python script tools
- Web App App Builder Developer Edition
- Familiarity with Java script, React, CSS, HTML
- Knowledge of AWS EC2 and RDS infrastructure
- Strong Access and MySQL database management knowledge
