Public Safety Officer

Overview

Public Safety Officer at Wake Med provides security of patients, visitors, staff and property by patrolling assigned areas, maintaining visitor control and investigating irregularities. Offers information and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff. The campus police & public safety department promotes a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors. The role is available 24 hours a day, monitoring emergency security/communications systems within the hospital, investigating irregularities, and managing CCTV surveillance cameras located across campus facilities.

Not Applicable

• High School Diploma or Equivalent – Required
• Associate’s Degree – Criminal Justice Preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred

• 2 Years Security – Preferred
• 2 Years Law Enforcement – Preferred
• 2 Years Public Safety – Preferred
• 2 Years Military – Preferred
• 2 Years Clinical – EMS or Medical Transport Service – Preferred
