- Conduct regular vehicle and foot patrols of Walmart parking lots and perimeter to deter theft, trespass, loitering, and criminal activity.
- Monitor parking lot activity and report suspicious persons/vehicles to store management and law enforcement as appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, de-escalate situations verbally whenever possible, and summon police when required. Follow company use-of-force and firearms policies at all times.
- Assist with vehicle theft prevention, lost persons, disorderly conduct, and parking/traffic concerns.
- Complete clear, timely incident reports and activity logs (paper and/or digital) after each shift.
- Work collaboratively with store management, loss prevention, and local law enforcement.

- Conduct basic vehicle checks (locked/unlocked, suspicious items) and report hazards (lighting, potholes).
- Be prepared to provide testimony or statements to law enforcement if needed.
- Current North Carolina Armed Security License (PPSP) — must be valid and in good standing. Proof of licensing is required at the time of application.
- Documented firearms training and current qualification certification per North Carolina Private Protective Services Board (NC PPSB) standards.
- Clean criminal history — no felony convictions and no disqualifying misdemeanor convictions (subject to company policy and NC PPSB regulations).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (must be insurable); reliable transportation to and from the site.
- Minimum age: 21 years old, and legally permitted to carry a firearm under state and federal law.
- Previous experience in armed security, patrol, loss prevention, or law enforcement is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to de-escalate conflicts effectively.

- Experience patrolling retail environments or large parking lots.
- Prior loss prevention or retail security experience.
- First aid/CPR certification.
- Familiarity with incident reporting software or two-way radio procedures.
- $26.00 / hour base pay.

- Short resume or summary of security experience (dates, sites, duties)
- Two professional references (name, relationship, phone)
- Confirmation you consent to a background check and drug screen
Applicants who do not provide proof of a current North Carolina (PPSP) armed security license will not be considered.
