This position assists with utilization and safe use of equipment and supplies in welding labs.
- Prepares equipment for laboratory use
- Maintains an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies
- Assists students in labs with understanding the objectives of the laboratory
- Assists students in developing troubleshooting skills
- Assists with preparing and setting up equipment and parts needed to conduct laboratory assignments
- Assists instructors as needed with lab equipment
- Assists with lab safety and procedures
- Confers with instructors to determine supply and equipment needs
- Performs maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools, including machine tools
- Knowledge of lab safety procedures and processes
Requirements:
- Current Wake Tech Student enrolled in Welding Technology Program
Preferences:
- One year of experience in welding, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
