Fire Alarm Service Technician
Summary:
This role is responsible for traveling to customer sites to investigate and repair reported fire alarm issues. They will work with the service manager to ensure fire alarm issues are diagnosed and repaired in a timely manner while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction possible.
- Diagnose fire alarm issues
- Propose solutions to eliminate reported issues
- Troubleshoot and repair circuit issues such as ground faults and open circuits
- Replace malfunctioning devices
- Replace malfunctioning panel components
- Modify fire alarm programming when necessary
- Coordinate with the service manager to complete service calls as efficiently as possible
- Report findings and results to customers
- Complete service call documentation for each service call
- Provide excellent customer service to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
- Four or more years of related experience
- Experience with a variety of fire alarm panels (Gamewell FCI, Firelite, & Silent Knight preferred)
- Experience programming fire alarm panels
- NICET FAS certification preferred
- Effective interpersonal and time management skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work with others
Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of electrical systems and low‑voltage wiring
- Familiarity with fire codes and safety standards
- Use of tools like multimeters, wire strippers, and programming devices
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs) Conventional Panels:
Like the MS-4 and MS-5UD-3, ideal for smaller installations. Addressable Panels:
Such as the ES‑50X, ES‑200X, and ES‑1000X, which support intelligent devices and zoning for more precise fire detection.
Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs) Addressable Panels:
Models like the 6700, 6808, and 6820
EVS support from 100 to over 1,100 addressable points, making them scalable for various building sizes. Emergency Voice Systems (EVS):
Integrated voice evacuation for mass notification during emergencies.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 – $38.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
