As an NDT/NDE Technician on our Metals team in Raleigh, North Carolina, you will grow your skills through hands‑on fieldwork. You will inspect structural steel, including bolted and welded connections, and may climb steel structures such as buildings, cell phone towers, and water tanks to heights exceeding 200 feet, using fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems.

• Inspection and Non‑Destructive Testing:
  Conduct inspections and deploy non‑destructive testing methods, including ultrasonic inspection (UT) of welds and/or magnetic particle testing (MT) of welds.
• Project Testing Assignments:
  Juggle testing assignments across projects, contributing to each endeavor's success.
• Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
  Maintain testing equipment, manage field and laboratory inventories, keep formal calibration records, and participate in quality systems audits.
• Report Creation:
  Craft detailed reports to communicate findings.

This position may require working 50+ hours per week during peak workload periods, as well as off‑shift and weekend work as needed. Experience in Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training and the use of fall protection equipment is a plus.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma/GED.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience or an associate degree in a closely related field.
• Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or working toward it.
  • ASNT Level II certification per ASNT‑SNT‑TC‑1A in at least one method.
  • Additional certifications (plus): ICC certification in Building Inspections or Structural Steel Inspection;
    Level II for UT;
    Level II for PT or MT.

• Outdoor hands‑on work in all weather conditions.
• Climbing heights over 200 feet.
• Routinely lifting and carrying 40–50 lbs of materials and equipment.
• Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites.
• Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out‑of‑town and/or overnight) as project needs arise.
