Low Voltage Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and service low-voltage systems in commercial, industrial, and residential environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with structured cabling, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, audiovisual systems, and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

+ Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and coaxial cable.

+ Install and service access control, CCTV, intrusion alarm, and intercom systems.

+ Perform equipment mounting, cable routing, labeling, and documentation.

+ Test and certify cabling infrastructure using industry-standard testing equipment.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.

+ Configure and troubleshoot IP-based devices and network-connected systems.

+ Collaborate with project managers, customers, and other trades to ensure successful project completion.

+ Follow safety procedures, company standards, and applicable building codes.

+ Complete service reports, work orders, and project documentation.

Required Qualifications

+ 1+ years of experience in low-voltage installation or related field.

+

Experience with structured cabling, access control, CCTV, or security systems.

+ Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

+ Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, switches, routers).

+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

+ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, lifts, and construction sites.

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with systems such as Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, Openpath, Verkada, or Milestone.

+ Low Voltage License (where applicable).

+ OSHA 10/30 Certification.

+ BICSI Certification.

+ Manufacturer certifications in access control, CCTV, or networking systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
