Sr. Manager, Software Systems

Insight Global is seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead the development of cutting-edge software solutions for a client's Novum IQ Infusion Platform. As the Senior Manager of Systems Software Engineering, you will lead a team of 10 systems and software engineers in Raleigh, NC, and be responsible for delivering software R&D outputs that revolutionize the medical devices and therapies sector.

This position is based at the client's Raleigh, NC location, with relocation benefits available.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of system engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of software for the infusion pump platform.
  • Oversee multiple ongoing projects within the infusion systems domain.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the development and optimization of embedded and digital products within our infusion pump platform meet stringent regulatory and safety standards for medical devices.
  • Lead the development of software requirements and risk management for software projects.
  • Align organizational goals by deriving software requirements from clinical and user needs.
  • Plan software release projects and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish project goals, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Champion an Agile development culture within the team, advocating for Agile methodologies and promoting their adoption and integration across the software engineering team.
  • Represent the systems software engineering team in meetings, presentations, and communications with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively coach, mentor, and motivate team members for outstanding performance, taking ownership of the team's deliverables and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Drive functional excellence initiatives within the team, promoting agility and process simplification.
  • Champion continuous improvement activities by initiating process and product quality improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the adoption of new tools and methodologies, and promoting best practices to enhance software quality and development efficiency.
  • Travel to India 2-3 times a year

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with 4 + years in management, combined with a senior level of experience in software engineering
  • Full knowledge of IEC 62304
  • Experienced in developing and bringing software solutions from ideation to market.
  • Proven experience in managing technical teams focused on developing medical device software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering for product development.
  • Proficient in developing software requirements and managing risks for software projects.
  • Skilled in using development tools for requirements management and issue tracking, such as Jira and Doors.
  • Broad understanding of theories and practices across various disciplines, with a solid technical grasp of software engineering principles and procedures (e.g., SDLC, IEC Agile).
  • Adept at analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thinking and the use of project management tools.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
