Software Engineer III; FinPro

Our client, a leading Insurance organization, is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their team. As a Software Engineer III, you will be part of the Technology & Engineering organization supporting Agile delivery teams responsible for building and maintaining scalable, high-availability enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset that will align successfully within the organization.

Software Engineer III

Hybrid – Raleigh, NC or Jersey City, NJ (3 days onsite per week)

FTE Direct Hire

• Design, develop, test, and support moderately complex software applications as part of Agile delivery teams.
• Translate business and stakeholder requirements into technical designs, source code, and testing artifacts.
• Collaborate with Software Architects and senior engineers to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
• Proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate engineering risks while keeping project stakeholders informed of status and issues.
• Provide production support and assist business users by resolving application issues in accordance with established SLAs.

• Advanced knowledge of the theoretical and practical application of highly specialized software engineering best practices, methods & techniques.
• Extensive experience in developing software applications on the assigned technology platform.
• Extensive knowledge on source code change management and related tools.

• Development experience with Java & Net C#, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Experience in scalable, high-availability back-end technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgre
  
  SQL.
• Experience with non-relational database technologies preferred such as Memcached, Mongo
  
  DB, Redis.
• Strong JavaScript back-end development experience with common frameworks Angular, RxJS, Node, etc.
• Front-end development experience including React
  
  JS, Webpack, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, Accessibility and Responsive Layouts, UI/UX development experience.
• Experience with Insurance / Reinsurance Systems and Data.
• Strong understanding of server-side software, scalability, performance, and reliability skills.
• Strong understanding of the OSI model, Networking, OS Layer and Services.
• Understanding of continuous delivery tools like Chef, Puppet, Salt.
• Understanding of continuous integration and deployment tools like Octopus deploy, Jenkins.
• Proficient in:
  Java, Net C#, JavaScript, Type Script, HTML5 & CSS, Windows, IIS, Linux, Tomcat, JBoss, Visio, TSQL, SSIS, PL/SQL, shell scripting.
• Some experience with Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Open Stack, Swift is a nice to have even if it is lab experience.
