The range listed reflects the entire range and typical placement is entry to mid range.

Pay Range - $25/hr - $30/hr    Position Purpose  Provide crisis intervention, support and referrals to children, parents/caregivers, and families who visit Ralston House for forensic interview and forensic medical exams.
Essential Job Functions
* Schedules and coordinates forensic interviews and forensic medical exam appointments.
* Provides crisis intervention, support, and referrals throughout all stages of the investigation and criminal justice process.
* Provides case management and support throughout all stages of the case.
* Provides victim compensation and victim rights information verbally and in print.
* Attends and supports child and family during their visit to Ralston House for forensic interviews and forensic medical exams.
* Provides court education and support.
* Assists in procuring concrete services (housing, protective orders, domestic violence intervention, food, transportation, public assistance, and emergency awards).
* Makes referrals for mental health treatment and educates families on the importance of mental health care.
* Attends trainings that elevates victim service skills as directed by supervisor.
* Provides case management contact with each family to ensure they receive appropriate support and necessary services.
* Maintains healthy relationships between all agencies that utilize or receive referrals from Ralston House including therapists on Ralston House Therapy Referral List.
* Travels to and attends team and organizational meetings, training, events and activities and appropriately and professionally represents the department.

Other Job Functions
* Contributes to the development of Ralston House Victim-Family Advocate Program and the Ralston House Volunteer Program.
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteer advocates.
* Provides court accompaniment to children and families.
* Designs and creates forms, flyers and brochures as needed.
* Recognizes, initiates, and leads improvement activities including assisting with the accreditation process and maintaining accreditation standards.
* Serves as a liaison with general public and outside agencies for Ralston House including making presentations to the public.
* Attends meetings in community as assigned by supervisor or executive director.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Experience in exercising discretion and maintaining a high level of confidentiality, tact, integrity and ethics in dealing with children, families and sensitive matters.
* Basic computer skills.
* Ability to work with people in crisis.
* Ability to supervise and manage volunteer staff.
* Ability to pivot and remain effective in a fast paced, stressful environment.
* Ability to effectively communicate information, both verbally and in writing, to support organizational objectives and interact with all levels of personnel within the city in a positive and cooperative manner.

Knowledge Skills Abilities Preferred    Education Degree
* Bachelor's Degree (BA, BS, BBA)
Education Major
* Child Development, Early Child Development or related field.

Education Required
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Work Experience Related
* Three (3) or more years of experience in a Victim and/or Human Services related field.

Work Experience Preferred
* Masters Degree and five (5) or more years experience in a human services capacity with an emphasis in trauma and crisis intervention.

Other Qualifications
* Successfully pass a polygraph and an extensive background check.

Physical Demands
* Minimal physical effort typically found in clerical work. Primarily sedentary, may occasionally lift and carry light objects. Walking and/or standing as needed and minimal.

Hazards
* Minimal exposure to hazards are typically found in general office environment where there is rarely to no exposure to injury or accident.

Work Environment
* Exposure to routine office noise and equipment.
