Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join a well-established public accounting firm in Ramsey, New Jersey. This role is ideal for a technically strong tax professional who enjoys managing client engagements, mentoring staff, and building lasting client relationships.

The Tax Manager will work closely with firm leadership to deliver high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to closely held businesses, partnerships, corporations, and individual clients. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and review business, partnership, corporate, and individual tax engagements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, tax projections, and supporting work papers.
  • Provide tax planning and advisory services for closely held businesses and high‑net‑worth individuals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop senior accountants and staff accountants.
  • Coordinate engagement workflow, budgets, staffing, and project deadlines.
  • Research and resolve federal, state, and multi‑state tax issues.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance client service.
  • Support the implementation and effective use of tax technology and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Active CPA license preferred (or actively pursuing licensure).
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong focus on taxation.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance.
  • Experience reviewing tax returns and supervising staff.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with public accounting tax and accounting software.
  • Positive, collaborative attitude with a commitment to professional growth and client service.
