Civil Engineering Technician

Bolton & Menk is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join our team in Ramsey, MN. With over 75 years of experience, we specialize in community infrastructure solutions across the Midwest and Southeast.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Assist with design and construction phase activities on various projects.
• Perform basic design computations and preliminary layout and design.
• Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take‑off estimates.
• Conduct construction observation activities such as staking, documenting activities, measuring and testing, providing oversight, and interacting with contractors, sub‑contractors, residents, and city staff.

What We Are Looking For:

• Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution or equivalent experience with infrastructure design and/or construction observation.
• Proficiency in CAD and design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station).
• Knowledge of DOT standard specifications, standard plans, and standard plates preferred.
• Understanding of design and construction techniques and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; business‑related travel will be reimbursed.
• Capability to work outdoors in extended periods and navigate rugged terrain for construction observation duties.

Salary Range: $45,000 – $75,000, depending on experience and credentials.
