General Contractor has an immediate opening for a Full-Time, In-House Paralegal to join the team.

Primary Responsibilities:

Insurance Cases/Construction Litigation

• Notice to insurance carriers
• Track all cases
• Document Discovery
• Constant communication with counsel

Due Diligence—All Projects

• AIA 305 and attachments – legal
• Sponsor Review (Limited and Full)
• EO50 and attachments and PAC
• Eviction
• NYCHA Pre-Qualification

Closing Administration

• Bonds
• Insurance COI's and Endorsements
• Signature & Transmission
• Document Organization

Insurance

• All Subcontractors policy review
• All COI's current and WC
• Correction of all Policies - as possible
• Practice - Notias Policies – Renewals
• NYCHA insurance policy review
• Review of Insurance Requirements

Miscellaneous

• Assistance to PMs as needed
• Legal and miscellaneous (FSG, Letters, Agreements, retainage issues, etc.)

Skills/

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate or Paralegal Certificate
• Prior regulatory experience, affordable housing or construction preferred
• Highly organized with strict attention to detail
• Ability to multitask efficiently
• Ability to prioritize effectively
• Computer proficiency, experience with Timberline a plus
• Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
• Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
• Ability to process requests quickly and efficiently
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and self-starter
• Deadline driven
