Job OverviewThe Manager, Merchandise Execution (Temp) ensures that every Macy’s store customer enjoys an exceptional shopping experience. The role leads a team to present merchandise attractively, oversees all merchandising activities, and brings creativity, visual flair, and trend knowledge to inspire fashion displays. The manager also cultivates an inclusive work environment, uses coaching and training to motivate an inclusive team, and fosters a culture of acceptance and respect.
WhatYou Will Do
- Apply fashion and merchandise execution experience to drive sales and profits.
- Interpret seasonal and monthly execution guides and tailor them to store architecture and assortment.
- Communicate, execute, and train visual merchandising directives, standards and brand partner requirements to keep floors customer‑ready.
- Create stunning displays using a variety of resources.
- Strategize on pricing, signage, visual presentation, events, and merchandising.
- Support Own Your Style fixtures, fashion trends, and setups.
- Lead DEI initiatives through mannequin and trend presentations that inspire customers.
- Document work with photos to create visual resources that educate and inspire.
- Train the Manager of Sales & Customer Service on merchandising standards and techniques.
- Interview, hire, train, manage, coach, develop, coordinate, evaluate, and discipline direct and indirect reports; provide insight and decision support; manage the team to meet or exceed performance expectations.
- Coach team members in effective merchandising techniques.
- Manage inventory, receipt flow, placement, and stockroom organization.
- Work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

- Fashion and Merchandise Execution:
Drive sales and profits through effective merchandising. - Visual Merchandising:
Train and execute visual directives to create a customer‑ready environment. - Strategic Thinking:
Enhance sales and customer experience through pricing, signage, and events. - Trend Awareness:
Support fashion trends and Own Your Style to drive engagement. - Documentation and Communication:
Document work with photos and communicate clear strategies. - Leadership and Team Development:
Manage, coach, and motivate a diverse team to achieve goals. - Inventory Management:
Optimize store operations through inventory flow and organization. - Effective Communication:
Present ideas clearly and persuasively. - Sense of Urgency:
Prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced retail environment. - Team
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with customers and colleagues. - Technical Proficiency:
Use Microsoft suite and handheld devices for daily operations.
- High School diploma or equivalent (encouraged).
- 3–5 years of management experience in retail.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching.
- Capable of standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
