Retail Security Officer

Job Overview

Mitie is looking for a Retail Elite Security Officer to join the Total Security Management Team. The role requires flexibility across shift patterns, locations and working arrangements.

• Protect customers and colleagues from physical and verbal abuse by providing a reassuring and professional security presence.
• Maintain a highly visible security presence that is easily identified by customers and colleagues while providing exceptional customer service.
• Proactively deter and prevent anti‑social behaviour, theft and criminal activity.
• Liaise with store management, Police and external agencies as required.
• Use conflict resolution techniques to diffuse difficult situations in the workplace.
• Identify and rectify behaviours or situations that endanger the health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues, customers or fellow officers, in line with company policies.

• Strong team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Experience in retail security.
• Flexible approach to work, able to collaborate with different teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in using technology.
• Ability to identify conflict triggers and employ mediation skills.
• High ethical standards and professional conduct.
• Conflict resolution training.
• Frontline Door Supervision or Security Guarding License required; CCTV Licence beneficial.
• Full UK Driving Licence beneficial.
• Capability to optimally use BWCCTV during confrontational situations.

• Pay rate: £12.71 per hour.
