The Reliability Engineer II ensures the reliability and performance of equipment, systems, and processes across the organization. This role focuses on developing, coordinating, and conducting technical reliability studies, analyzing engineering designs, and implementing risk-based methodologies to improve system and process reliability. This role performs moderately complex work independently with general supervision, applying advanced education and practical experience to solve problems and influence reliability practices across functional teams.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Conducts engineering and statistical analyses to assess reliability of designs, materials, components, and systems.
- Measures and analyzes reliability performance using established tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Recommends design or test methods, maintenance strategies, and process control procedures to achieve required levels of reliability.
- Performs risk analyses and reliability modeling; identifies failure modes and develops mitigation actions.
- Undertakes testing and analysis of new designs or modifications to improve reliability, cost, performance, and safety.
- Develops design, installation, test, and inspection criteria for equipment and systems.
- Inspects new installations to ensure specifications and standards are met; recommends modifications when needed.
- Defines, develops, and maintains asset maintenance plans and reliability work processes.
- Advises operations and maintenance teams on reliability issues and supports troubleshooting for more complex system failures.
- Prepares technical reports, reliability studies, and documentation in accordance with policies, procedures, and good engineering practices.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and company standards.
- 2 years of related engineering experience and a Bachelor’s degree in (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field;
- Experience applying reliability tools, methodologies, and data analysis preferred; and
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, chemical, or life sciences environments is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Knowledge of reliability engineering principles (FMEA, RCM, Weibull analysis, etc.);
- Attention to detail and quality-focused work;
- Ability to work independently with general direction;
- Effective communication and technical report writing;
- Project management and organizational skills; and
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and maintenance functions
