Test Engineer

Job Summary

Motion Control Engineering (MCE), part of Nidec Corporation, is a leading independent elevator control manufacturer known for innovation and rapid growth. MCE’s elevator control products are installed worldwide in notable buildings such as the Statue of Liberty and the US Capitol Building.

What you’ll be doing:

• Test hydraulic control systems and train on mid-range traction control systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair associated electronic circuits (digital/analog).
• Perform duties in the technical quality control operation when needed.
• Work with high voltage ranges from (+5 - 700
  
  VDC) and up to 600 VAC.
• Occasionally work with technical support, assisting customers via telephone and field trips.
• Perform training and other work‑related duties, including assisting other departments as required.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned.

What we like about you:

• Associate degree in Electrical or Electronics or an equivalent two‑year course.
• Basic understanding of how electricity works in commercial and industrial settings.
• Knowledge of basic electrical circuits, voltage, current, resistance calculations (Ohm’s law).
• Understanding of transformer types and single‑phase/three‑phase systems.
• Basic knowledge of AC and DC motors, electric/magnetic circuits, resonance, and measuring instruments; soldering/desoldering skill.
• Ability to use multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency generators and other test equipment.
